Twin Valley, MN — The Norman County East Early Childhood Initiative is sponsoring an Alumni Santa Sale as a way to support the great work of our dedicated teachers and staff by fulfilling items on their classroom wishlists. The easiest, most contactless way to donate is through the Amazon Wishlist. Items purchased from the wishlist will ship directly to the school. If you are an alumni or community member who would like to donate, you may find the link to the wishlist through the Norman County East Early Childhood Initiative Facebook page or by searching “NCE Alumni Santa Bag” on the Amazon website. The wishlist will be updated and available until January or until completed.
Katie Demaris, Co-chair of the Norman County East Early Childhood Initiative, says there weren’t able to do their Santa Sale for the students this year, so they came up with this alternative to help support the teachers and staff in the district.
Demaris adds that this year more than ever we need to show some support for our teachers as they’ve been under tremendous pressure and have needed to be extremely flexible.
If you are looking for a way to donate while supporting local businesses, some of the items on the list include Crayola art supplies, children’s puzzles, and board games. These items could be purchased locally and donated to the school.
The Norman County East Early Childhood Initiative began in 2008. The NCE ECI coalition has been very active fulfilling our vision that “all young children and their families thrive and have a healthy life of learning and succeeding with the support of their community.” NCE ECI’s most recent project was to purchase craft kits for all the elementary students to make ornaments to give to their family, because students could not shop during the usual Santa Sale this year.
