(BRAINERD, MN) — Mitch Andres, a Brainerd High School graduate and former member of the Warriors’ Boys Hockey team, is currently in his sophomore season with the Boston College Eagles and their Men’s Hockey team. We spoke with him to get an update on his collegiate experience thus far.

Mitch started by discussing how COVID has affected his experience, from prematurely ending a national championship-contending season last year, to the start of this year.

When he found out during the offseason that the 2020-2021 season would be taking place, Andres said he was ecstatic.

Andres then talked about how this year has been different from any other year playing hockey.

Andres is a defenseman at BC, where there are 5 NHL draft picks at that position; however, even with so much competition for skating time, Andres explained how he needs to stay prepared given the unpredictability of this season and the always-present possibility that players can be quarantined.

Finally, Andres talked about the expectations going forward for this year’s Boston College team, which currently sits at #2 in the national rankings.

We thank Mitch Andres for his time. Our full interview with him may be found below.
