International Falls – Fort Frances Mayor June Caul joined The Morning Show Tuesday to update the southern half of the Borderland on the process, and progress of the demolition of the Fort Frances mill. Mayor Caul shared that though deals to purchase the mill had fallen through, they are excited for the future of the land.

As both Canada and the United States deal with the ongoing pandemic, Fort Frances, like International Falls, is dealing with a smaller number of cases than other cities within the Kenora region.

Mayor Caul noted that with the current border closure, this holiday season will be difficult for the two communities, especially families separated by national lines.

In the spirit of giving back, the town of Fort Frances is partaking in events to meet the need in uncertain times.
