Ada, MN — The St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ada may more closely resemble a Panera Bread than a church parking lot during their annual Soup and Pie Day this Thursday, December 3rd, which will now be conducted in drive-through fashion this year. While they’ve had to completely change how they do the fundraiser, Terry Steen with the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Parish Office says it was very important to keep it going so they can continue to support the needs of the community during these difficult times.
To follow guidelines, ensure the safety of others, and to keep the tradition alive, this year people will be asked to preorder their Soup and Pie Day meals a day ahead of time and pick them up between 11am and 1:30pm on Thursday.
The soup options are the same as prior, including Beef Dumpling, Chicken Dumpling, and Chicken Noodle. For pie, your options are coconut cream, banana cream, chocolate cream, lemon meringue, apple, and pumpkin pie.
Their will also be a silent basket auction again this year, according to Steen, but it will done via their Facebook page instead of in-person.
The St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is still looking for additional silent auction baskets. If you would like to donate a basket, please contact the Parish Office at 784-8566. Preorders for the Soup and Pie Day are encouraged by the end of the day on Wednesday.
