St. Paul, MN — Following a restrictive Thanksgiving Holiday, Governor Tim Walz gave little confidence to Minnesotans hoping to get the green light to return to large gatherings in time for the next major holiday: Christmas. During his Monday press conference, Walz noted that they will take a look at the data trends, but its unlikely that the guidance for gatherings will change any time soon.
As of now, Walz’s executive order restricting people from gathering with others outside their household is set to expire on December 18th, but could be extended.
Governor Walz also provided an update on the work being done by the legislature to provide relief for Minnesota businesses impacted by his latest shutdowns. He says the Tuesday’s budget forecast may speed up the process.
Walz says it possible that an agreement could be reached later this week.
