(Aitkin, MN) — Operation Christmas in Aitkin County is back for the Holiday Season and will be kicking off their month-long initiative of aiding under-privileged families this week. We recently spoke with Jim Carlson and Tawny Druar about the decision to keep Operation Christmas going even in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Proper Precautions will be in place to ensure safety of shoppers and families.
Aitkin County residents are eligible for the program that gives families the chance to shop by appointment for children age 0-18 at no cost from the 40 Club Convention Center in Aitkin, running December 8-10. Tawny spoke about the change in the layout for shopping this year and for those who are signing up.
Toy donations can be dropped off at multiple drop-off sites in Aitkin, McGregor, Palisade, and Hill City.
For more information, call Tawny at 218-429-1811 or visit their Facebook page. A phone number to get signed up for appointments will be announced on Community Connection on Wednesday, November 25th. That number you can call the week of November 30-December 4th from 8:30am-4:30pm.
