Twin Valley, MN — Even with no snow on the ground, The Moonshiners Snowmobile Club is busy preparing for the upcoming snowmobiling season. The Moonshiners are based mostly out of Norman County and are in charge of maintaining roughly 120 miles of local trails as well provide snowmobile safety training for youth. Club President Dave Jenson says their objective right now is to get signs and trail markers placed throughout their trail system before they open for the season. However, it’s a process that was made easier thanks to the purchase of a new tracked UTV.
This weekend the Moonshiners Snowmobile Club was supposed to be kicking off the snowmobiling season with their annual membership supper, but Jenson says unfortunately due to the pandemic the supper was cancelled this year.
Each year in conjunction with the Minnesota United Snowmobile Association, the Moonshiners sell a calendar raffle. Those calendars are now available for purchase from club members and go to support other area organizations.
The calendars can also be purchased at the Ada Building Center for $20.
