Baxter Mayor Discusses Status on Projects, Snow Plow Policy from November 17 Council Meeting
The city of Baxter held a regular council meeting on Tuesday, November 17. We spoke with Mayor Darrel Olson to gather all the latest from what was discussed.
Olson mentioned that the South Forestview project was mostly completed after the recent week of unexpectedly good weather, leaving only a handful of smaller roads to be completed sometime next year.
Much of the meeting time was occupied by the discussion of the possibility of moving forward with a trail project on a plot of land purchased by the city along Highway 371. This project, Olson said, has been in the works for some time. Ultimately, the decision was tabled for next year.
Olson also mentioned that the city’s snow plow policy was updated, with the latest edition being available on the city’s website. He mentioned that the update was necessary given that the city was rather shorthanded with snow plowers during recent snow showers due to COVID and other factors.
We thank Mayor Olson for his time. The next regular council meeting for the city of Baxter is scheduled for December 1. Our full interview with Olson can be found below.
