Climax, MN — The Climax-Shelly School Board held their regular monthly meeting last week on Thursday, November 12th. At the meeting, they canvassed election results, discussed distance learning, and accepted a donation from the local community club. The district is currently in full distance learning and has been since November 9th. Depending on if cases continue to rise and available staff, Climax-Shelly Superintendent Michael Underwood is hoping to bring all students back after Thanksgiving.
Superintendent Underwood notes that despite the full distance learning, they are exploring ways to bring special needs back into the classrooms for additional time.
The Climax-Shelly School Board did approve allowing extra-curricular activities to resume starting on Monday despite distance learning, but students must provide their own transportation to activities.
Also at the meeting, Underwood says they canvassed the votes from the November 3rd election.
And the Climax-Shelly School Board was more than happy to accept an unsolicited donation from the Climax-Shelly Community Club in the amount of $10,000.
The Climax-Shelly School Board also had some discussions about returning to in-person meetings, but no change has yet to be made.
