McGregor School Board discusses Election Results, COVID-19, and High School Sports at Special Session

(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor Public School Board held a Special Session meeting Monday night to review the Election Results and discuss School Board and Superintendent goals.
Gary Lee from the Minnesota School Board Association discussed with the Board their Superintendent & School Boards Goals, which included establishing certain meetings for Mid-Year Evaluations.
In review of the Canvassing of Election Results, the 4 School Board seats that were up for election went to Bethany Sellers, Jennifer Brekke, Pat Scollard, and Jordan Moser. Approval was given to the Canvassing Returns of Votes of the School District General Election, the Clerk’s Certificate as to Abstract & Return of Votes Cast, a resolution Authorizing Issuance of Certificate of Election and Directing School clerk to perform other Election related duties, and the Certificate of Election Results for the County Auditor.
Superintendent Brad Johnson spoke to the Board on a COVID-19 update concerning the current learning model and how they come to the decision.
Johnson also mentioned with the Aitkin School District keeping High School sports going while distance learning, the Board may want to consider the same action if they switch learning models.
The McGregor School Board is next scheduled to meet for their regular meeting on Monday, November 16th at 6pm.
