Hunter Missing in Becker County Near Bad Medicine Lake

On November 8, 2020, at 3:45 PM, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing hunter. Paul Sandstrom, age 58, of Blaine, Minnesota, was last seen in the Gardner Lake area, near Bad Medicine Lake in northern Becker County. It is a heavily wooded area with several small lakes and ponds.

Sandstrom failed to meet with his hunting group at 11:30 AM and was later reported missing to law enforcement. He was last seen wearing orange and black hunting clothing.

The sheriff’s office is being assisted by White Earth Tribal Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, United States Fish & Wildlife Services, Elbow Tulaby Fire Department, Carsonville Fire Department, Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, and North Memorial Ambulance Service.
