Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission had their first regular monthly meeting last Monday, November 6th at the Hillsboro Community Center. At the meeting, the commission got an update on the Natural Gas project and approved a request from Dakota Natural Gas to get names and addresses of property owners in town so that they may begin building a database of potential customers. The hope is begin installing the natural gas pipeline into the Hillsboro and Mayville communities’ next spring.
The commission also approved moving forward with seeking a part time building inspector for the city with lots of development planned in the city in the near future, according to Hillsboro Commission President Terry Sando.
There were some concerns brought forward at the meeting with Century Link, who is doing some projects and upgrades around town. President Sando says their equipment and materials have become an obstruction for residents.
A couple of updates from Hillsboro City Hall. President Sando says they are looking at installing a Dutch for increased safety and the DOT is planning to install a kiosk for vehicle tabs and other services.
And the Hillsboro City Commission had a brief discussion on the EV Charging Station which they now plan on installing near the Subway restaurant. Sando says they are waiting on some final documents from the property owners before they proceed with the project.
