Climax-Shelly Elementary Joining High School in Distance Learning
By Mark Askelson firstname.lastname@example.org (11/5/20)
Climax, MN — Just a few days after the Climax-Shelly School District announced that the High School was switching to a temporary distance learning, the Elementary announced that they too would begin distance learning starting on November 9th. Originally, the high school was only intending to distance learn for two weeks, but students in all grades now aren’t expected to return to school until November 30th. Climax-Shelly Principal Dave Rufsvold says continued close contact situations and staffing issues ultimately forced them to expand their distance learning to the entire district.
The elementary students were sent home yesterday so that staff can prepare for the next few weeks of distance learning. Principal Rufsvold says they are currently putting together packets of information that will be distributed to families Friday afternoon.
As far as providing lunch for students during distance learning, Rufsvold notes that will be done in a very similar fashion to this past spring.
The meal request form is available on the homepage of the Climax-Shelly School website.
