Regular Hunting Season for White-tailed and Mule Deer Begins Friday in North Dakota
The regular firearm deer season begins at noon on Friday, November 6th in North Dakota. Over 69,000 licenses were distributed this year through the lottery system according to Casey Anderson, Assistant Chief of the Wildlife Division for the North Dakota Game and Fish. Although effective for deer management, North Dakota’s deer lottery system does present some challenges for hunting traditions. Anderson explains (audio).
The North Dakota Game and Fish has heard some good reports from the youth deer season across the state that was completed September 27th. The bow season continues through January 3rd and is also expected to have good numbers, specifically in the Badlands. As for the regular season opener this Friday, Anderson says the weather has created a positive outlook for hunters (audio).
