(Deerwood, MN) — The Deerwood Police Department, Chief Mark Taylor, and Cuyuna Area Connections came together this past week for an insightful webinar with helpful information on Winter Preparedness and Planning for Winter Safety.

Chief Taylor spoke about some of the main points to remind Northlanders of the changing conditions and how it affects day-to-day life.

Besides road crashes and adjustments in driving, personal injuries occur regularly in multiple areas.

Hypothermia is also another concern and dressing properly can make a difference in life or death.

Once the winter weather changes routines, even going to the grocery store can become a dangerous task.

Chief Taylor also noted that having these helpful items in your vehicle this winter would be beneficial to have now.

The Crosby and Deerwood Police Departments will have sand shaker bottles available starting today. Learn more about Cuyuna Area Connections by calling Coordinator Cassie Carey at 218-821-6975.
