MN Hunters Invited to be Interactive Through “First Day of Deer Camp” Webinar & Online Surveys

Detroit Lakes, MN — While the Minnesota DNR is unavailable to host in-person events, they are encouraging hunters across the state to go online to ask questions and provide valuable feedback to improve their deer management plan. Now is especially a good time to do that, just ahead of the Firearms Deer Opener, as deer might be the only thing on the minds of fellow hunters. Along with interactive maps and surveys available on the website, the DNR is hosting a “First Day of Deer Camp” webinar to allow anyone with deer hunting questions a chance to prepare for the hunting season and ask their staff who specialize in education, wildlife, and enforcement. Detroit Lakes Area Wildlife Supervisor Rob Baden talks more about the webinar and other unique resources available for hunters on the DNR website.
Baden adds that DNR is putting a heavy focus on citizen science and encourages hunters when they are in the woods next weekend to report their sightings to the DNR via their online tools or other methods.
For wildlife questions or comments, you can contact Rob by email at Robert.firstname.lastname@example.org or give his office a call at 218-846-8476. Rob will join us on the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program Monday at 9am to preview the 2020 Firearms opener and talk wildlife in general.
