Construction the Ag Innovation Campus (AIC) is officially underway in Crookston after yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony on the location of what will become a 67,000 square-foot soybean crush facility. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz along with other state and community leaders attended the groundbreaking ceremony. Governor Walz congratulated those working on the project and explained that he is excited about the impact this new facility could have on the economy in our area and beyond.
MN Soybean Research and Promotion Council CEO, Tom Slunecka, explains that the goal of the Ag Innovation Campus is to help bridge the gap between new ideas and those ideas reaching final consumers.
Although it may seem that the idea for the AIC has been in the works for a long time, an ambitious timeline has been set. AIC Project Manager Jim Lambert says the plan is to have the facility operational by the end of 2021.
