Aitkin Police Chief Tim Catlin talks City Deer Hunt, traffic changes, and new officer in monthly update

(Aitkin, MN) — In his monthly update, Aitkin Police Chief Tim Catlin returned to discuss the City Deer Hunt, changing protocols with the weather, and other recent activity with the Aitkin Police Department.

The City Deer Hunt, running through December 31st, has seen up and downs early on.

Numerous precautions and selected hunting areas have kept the interest going for years.

Chief Catlin mentioned the installation of the blue light to deter vehicles from running red lights.

Recent actions by Aitkin County and the Sheriff’s Office on the County ATV ordinance, also has Chief Catlin and the City of Aitkin looking into possible changes to their ordinance.

A new officer will also be joining the Aitkin Police Department in the coming weeks.
