Ada, MN — The Ada-Borup School Board held a special meeting on Wednesday morning, October 21st to discuss transportation, consolidation, and some staffing items. The board appointed Mick Thompson, Gretchen Rockstad, and Nancy Merkens to their consolidation committee that will lead negotiations with Norman County West moving forward. Ada-Borup Superintendent Aaron Cook says there’s been a lot of preliminary talks over the years, but they need to move forward and quickly if they hope to have a plan in place for the 2021-2022 School Year.
Superintendent Cook says both boards understand that consolidation may be beneficial for both schools, but they also need to work together on creating a deal that is fair for both parties.
The Ada-Borup School Board also approved an Activities Transportation waiver for the rest of year, which Cook says gives parents the opportunity to transport their students to and from extracurricular activities.
The Ada-Borup School Board also approved hiring Jayden Yost as a long-term substitute paraprofessional.
