Garrison Fire Department holds City Council’s attention at monthly meeting

(Garrison, MN) — The Garrison Fire Department moved multiple actions at the Garrison City Council meeting from Tuesday night.
We spoke with Garrison Mayor Loren Larson about details from the meeting which included a letter of gratitude from members of North Memorial Ambulance Service after a recent call.
A donation from the Garrison Fire Relief Association is going toward the Fire Equipment fund.
The Garrison Fire Department is also posting an opening to be Assistant Fire Chief. The City is also looking into grant funding from the Engineering Department.
Cameras will be installed outside City Hall from Peoples Security Company and an application for a gambling permit for Out of Place was approved. Mayor Larson also elaborated more on the merry-go-round being fixed in the City Park.
A donation was accepted from the Garrison Commercial Club in the amount $4,000, with $2,000 going to the Garrison Fire Relief Association, $1,000 to repair lights at the Fish at the Mille Lacs concourse, and $1,000 to aid in cleaning up the boat landing. The Garrison Commercial Club also mentioned their Fall Dinner will be on October 27th.
The Garrison City Council is next scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 10th at 5:30pm.
