Emily Mayor Talks CARES Act Round 2 and More from October 13 Council Meeting
The city of Emily held its monthly regular council meeting on Tuesday, October 13. We spoke with Mayor Buddy Lund, who brought us up to speed on what was discussed.
One of the main items on the agenda was that of the CARES Act. Lund mentioned that Tyler Glynn, a member of the Crow Wing County staff, spoke with the city council about the money that was left over from the first round of CARES Act grants. Lund said that the city will partake in the next “wave” of CARES Act grants as approved by the county, as well as look for new ways to promote and cultivate businesses in the city.
The deadline to apply for aid has been set at October 23 by the county, and Lund said that the city of Emily will operate on that same schedule.
Lund also mentioned the topic of a 2014 road improvement project assessment as a major talking point of the meeting.
The final big bit of news was that the city has made some upgrades to its city hall and now offers video conferences for its council meetings, so citizens of the city of Emily can now view council meetings from the safety of their own homes.
We thank Mayor Lund for his time. The city of Emily will hold its next regular council meeting on November 10. Our full interview with Lund may be found below.
