Norman County Sheriff’s Office Peacefully Resolves Situation with Loaded Gun
Halstad, MN — On Monday, October 12th at 4:51pm, the Norman County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from an unidentified female caller, stating that she was sitting at the ballpark near the former Norman County West High School in Halstad and that she had a loaded gun. The school building is no longer in use by the district.
The Norman County Sheriff’s Office responded and made contact with the individual, who was having a mental health crisis. After negotiating with the female, deputies were able to resolve the incident peacefully and without injury. The individual has not been identified and their condition or status is not known.
The Norman County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ada Police Department and the Norman County Ambulance.
