Fertile, MN — The owners of Erickson’s Smokehouse in Fertile showed their appreciation for the teachers and staff at the Fertile-Beltrami School on Thursday, dishing up roughly 100 homemade pizzas and salads for the hardworking staff. The appreciation lunch is a tradition for Mark and Sue Erickson, and Mark says their jobs certainly hasn’t gotten any easier this year either with the pandemic.
And as a restaurant owner having to follow strict guidelines this year, Erickson also understands the struggles that teachers are going through, like adapting to change and trying to keep a positive attitude through it all.
And feeding a 100 hungry and hardworking staff fresh cooked, homemade pizzas and salads is no easy task, but Mark says they got a good system in place to feed everyone in a timely manner.
Mark adds providing the appreciation lunch for the Fertile-Beltrami staff “is a pretty small amount of work to thank such a great organization for the work that they do on a daily basis.”
